Lindsay Douglass has not only made huge accomplishments as a rider, but also as a force in the equestrian business world. As as Stamford graduate, West Coast Junior Rider, and North American Youth Championship Silver Medalist, Lindsay has moved up in the rankings as an adult competing at the FEI level alongside Olympic Rider, Lucy Davis. Lindsay currently competes on her mare Butterfly Tibri Z (Butterfly) and the two have been unstoppable since Lindsay's college years. Kim Pickel has been a horse girl since day one. Based in the Netherlands, Kim has a ton of experience working with young horses and developing them for clients. Kim is especially known for helping clients in the United States import horses from Europe, as well as assist riders who wish to travel and live out the European experience by training in the Netherlands. Martha Jolicoeur is one of Wellington's top real estate agents and has managed to combine her passion for the equestrian world with a successful professional career in selling top Wellington realty. You've probably heard of her sponsored jumps in arenas at WEF, or maybe her history as a top junior rider growing up training under to expertise of George Morris. Earning titles such as Best Child Rider at the Pensilvania National and numerous WEF circuit championships, Martha worked her way up riding internationally at the Grand Prix level under olympians Ian Millar and Norman Dello Joio. With her background in riding at the top level, Martha believes in helping the perfect candidate find the right property that fits their needs in the equestrian space. Listen in!

Elizabeth McCowan has been a full-time horse show manager for over a decade. With experience managing a few different disciplines including over one hundred Hunter/Jumper shows, Elizabeth has pretty much seen it all. In gaining so much exposure to horse showing, Elizabeth has even written a book called "Horse Show Manager's Guide" which gives advice to those who wish to have more knowledge for the career. Elizabeth is currently the sales manager for the boot sock and accessory shop Dreamers & Schemers. Listen in! 

[EP 165] The Music that Saves Horses with Lindsay DiTullio

Lindsay DiTullio, also known as Lyra V, is a recording artist and equestrian who shares a love for rescuing horses, creating music, as well as producing freestyle dressage tracks. When she is not in the studio, Lyra V can be found at the stables. This "Pop Rock Equestrian" owns two dressage horses (KFPS Royal Friesians), and three rescues - an Arabian, a Draft, and a spirited Thoroughbred.

LYRA V's ongoing project is creating a documentary film accompanied by an original music score to raise awareness for the many Summer Camp Horses that are sent to slaughter each year. This is a project inspired by her slaughter-bound Arabian mare "Kalila" and Amish Driving horse "Hank". Listen in!

Bethany Lee welcomes her husband Ethan Lee on the podcast to share their story and answer some of our questions on how the couple, named B.ethan.y (haha), met, got married, and paid rent by starting a wedding photography business. Ethan is a real estate investor and house flipper by day, but is maybe better known as the photographer for My Equestrian Style. Ethan Lee has created content for hundreds of equestrian brands. Five years ago, the two started My Equestrian Style which has since become one of the most popular Equestrian lifestyle accounts. [EP 163] Animal-Assisted Therapy with Courtenay Baber

*Warning* The topics discussed in this episode may be sensitive for some listeners as it pertains to sexual abuse and misconduct in equestrian sport. Here at the Equestrian Podcast we believe every equestrian should have the opportunity to share their story and discuss topics that aren't brought to light as often as they should in the equestrian industry. We believe that while some topics may be harder to talk about, it is important that we bring education and awareness to the fact that sexual abuse is not something to be taken lightly.

Courtenay Baber, MS, LPC, CSOTP, is a licensed professional counselor and is trained in acceptance and commitment therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and animal-assisted therapy. Courtenay, along with her mother Carolyn, have published a book Recollections: A Journey of Courage and Abuse sharing Carolyn's mental journey healing from sexual abuse with the help of animal-assisted therapy with horses. Since Carolyn's passing Courtenay was not only able to finish her mother's book, but also help others who share similar stories. Courtenay offers online therapy sessions, equine-assisted learning, equine sports coaching, and more through her program Gray Horse Counseling, LLC. Listen in!
